Effective January 1, 2025 all operators, regardless of age, are required to posess a boating safety certificate. To obtain a boating safety certificate you'll need to complete a state approved course. All persons, regardless of age, must complete an approved Boating Safety Education Course in order to operate a PWC on New York State waters. The required certificate MUST be carried at all times while operating the boat.
